Hunter Safety 2008

The Class of 2008. It consisted of 15 students and all successfully completed the course which included instruction, field work and shooting a small bore rifle course.

Here Bruce XX from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks instructs the students on various aspects of hunter safety, game id, hunting regulations and many other hunting related subjects.

Rang Master Jerry Churchill of Meagher Co. Sportsmen's Association brief the participants on the course of fire and the procedures of the day. The class was broken into 4 sections of 5 students and each individual had a personal coach while at the firing line. All students shot extremely well.

The class and instructors. There were 19 total students including seventeen youth. The instructors were Doug Caltrider(L) and Lee Zentner.

Department of Fish and Game Officer John Lesofski was on hand to add his knowledge and instruction during the field exercises.

The class was divided and rotated through three different stages. Above is the firing line where students shot from standing and prone positions. Above right is part of the field work, and right the outdoor preparedness and pack packing. Below is practical experience in crossing an obstacle (in this case a fence), safely.

Congratulations to all participants for successfully completing the course. It will be noted that each will receive a complementary years membership to the Association in order that they may hone the shooting and safety skills learned in class.
